# Speech & Voice

Speech tools move between spoken and written words: text-to-speech reads text aloud with a synthetic voice, and speech recognition turns a recording into a transcript. Voice tools record from a microphone, remove background noise or change how a voice sounds. Automatic transcripts can contain errors, so check names and numbers.
