# Excel & Spreadsheets

Spreadsheet tools handle workbooks in XLSX, the older XLS and OpenDocument ODS formats. People use them to export a sheet to CSV for a database, combine files into one workbook, split a large workbook apart and remove empty or duplicate rows. Formulas and formatting survive only in spreadsheet formats, not in CSV.
