# Convert Images

Image conversion saves a picture in a different file format so it opens where you need it. Common reasons are HEIC phone photos that a website rejects, WebP downloads that an older editor cannot open, and PNG screenshots that should become smaller JPG files. Converting to a lossy format can lower quality slightly.
