# Matrices & Vectors

Matrices and vectors are the main objects of linear algebra, used for systems of equations, computer graphics and data. Two matrices can be multiplied only when the first has as many columns as the second has rows: a 2-by-3 matrix times a 3-by-4 matrix gives a 2-by-4 result. Other operations include determinants, inverses, eigenvalues and dot and cross products.
