# Edit & Annotate

Editing a PDF changes what its pages contain: correcting text, adding images, numbering pages or stamping a watermark. Annotations such as highlights and sticky notes sit on top of the page and leave the original content untouched. Real redaction removes the text and images under a black box; drawing a box on top only hides them.
