# Privacy policy

Techolm sets no cookies, needs no account and has no analytics, ads or trackers, and its pages load nothing from other websites. Its server logs requests with only part of your IP address. The only thing the pages store on your device is your theme choice, and only if you pick one. Each tool page says where that tool runs.

## Who is responsible

Dewiride Technologies Private Limited ("Dewiride", "we" or "us") runs the public website at https://techolm.com. If you have a question about privacy, contact Dewiride through [its website](https://dewiride.com). If your organization runs Techolm on its own servers, also read [Installations run by an organization](https://techolm.com/privacy#organization-installations).

## No cookies

Cookies are small pieces of data that a website asks your browser to store and send back on later visits. Techolm sets none, so it shows no cookie banner.

## Your theme choice, stored in your browser

The theme button at the top right of every page opens three choices: System, Light and Dark. When you choose Light or Dark, the site saves that one word under the name `techolm-theme` in your browser's local storage, a small store that your browser keeps for each website. Every page reads it, so that it opens in the theme you chose.

Choosing System deletes the setting, and your device's own light or dark setting applies again. The setting is never sent to us or to anyone else. If your browser blocks storage, your choice lasts only until you leave the page.

## No analytics, ads or trackers

The pages contain no analytics, advertising or tracking code, no social media buttons and no content embedded from other websites. Fonts and icons are served by Techolm itself, so opening a page sends no request to any other website.

## No accounts

You never create an account or sign in to use Techolm, so the site holds no profile or password of yours.

## What our server records when you visit

The server that runs the public website at https://techolm.com keeps a log of the requests it receives, such as your browser asking for a page or an image. We use the log only to keep the site working and safe: to find and fix errors, to see how quickly the server answers and to spot attacks or overload. For each request, the log holds only:

- the date and time;
- the start of your IP address, the number that lets the server send its answer to your device: an IPv4 address keeps its first three of four parts, so `203.0.113.57` is kept as `203.0.113.0`, and an IPv6 address keeps its first three of eight groups, so `2001:db8:85a3:8d3:1319:8a2e:370:7348` is kept as `2001:db8:85a3::`;
- the address of the page or file, without anything after a question mark, so what you type into the site search is not kept;
- the kind of request, such as reading a page, and the version of HTTP, the protocol that browsers and servers use to talk to each other;
- the result, such as 200 when the page was sent or 404 when it does not exist, the size of the answer and of anything your browser sent, and how long the answer took;
- a short description of the error, when something fails on our side.

The log keeps nothing else that your browser sends, such as its name and version, your language settings, the page you came from or cookies, and nothing that you put into a tool.

The log stays on that server. We keep each line for 180 days, the period for which India's cyber security agency, CERT-In, [directs companies in India](https://www.cert-in.org.in/PDF/CERT-In_Directions_70B_28.04.2022.pdf) to keep the logs of their computer systems. The server then deletes the line automatically, within two days. We do not sell the log or share it with anyone, unless the law requires us to.

## What you put into a tool

Each tool page states where that tool runs. A tool that works in the browser reads your text or files on your device and sends none of it to a server, to us or to anyone else.

If a tool ever needs a server, its page will say so, and our rule is that what you send it is never written to logs, never kept longer than your request needs, never shared with anyone else and never used for anything but your result.

## When you contact us

Techolm has no email address and no contact form, so this website receives no messages from you. If you contact Dewiride through [its website](https://dewiride.com), we receive what you send, such as your email address, your message and anything you attach. We use it only to read and answer your message and to act on it, for example to fix a mistake on a page. Please do not send personal or confidential files.

## Installations run by an organization

If your organization runs Techolm on its own servers, your organization runs that installation, and its own policies apply to it. Its pages behave as this policy describes: they set no cookies, store only your theme choice and send no request to any other website. Its server keeps the same kind of request log, with the same shortened IP addresses, on your organization's servers. The installation does not report back to Dewiride. Messages sent through Dewiride's website go to Dewiride, outside your organization.

## Changes to this policy

This policy describes what Techolm does today. We will update this page before we add any feature that collects or stores information about you, such as a form for sending tool requests. Every change is recorded, and the "Updated" date shows when this page last changed.
