# Compare & Diff

A diff compares two versions of a text and marks what changed: lines or words that were added, removed or edited. It helps when reviewing edits to contracts, articles and translations, or confirming that two copies match. Diff algorithms such as Myers' search for the smallest set of edits that turns one text into the other.
