Git & Versioning
Git records changes to a project as commits, and version numbers tell people what changed between releases. Under semantic versioning, MAJOR.MINOR.PATCH, a major increase signals a breaking change, a minor one adds features and a patch fixes bugs. Ignore files, commit messages and everyday Git commands are the other routine parts.
