DNS & Domains

The Domain Name System (DNS) translates names like example.com into the IP addresses computers use. Each record type has its own purpose: A and AAAA give IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, MX names mail servers, and TXT holds text such as email policies. Registration details come from WHOIS and RDAP, the newer protocol designed to replace it.
