Waves, Optics & Sound

For any periodic wave, speed equals frequency times wavelength. A 440 Hz tone in air at 20 °C, where sound travels at about 343 m/s, therefore has a wavelength of about 0.78 m. Related problems involve the Doppler effect, sound levels in decibels, refraction and Snell's law, and images formed by lenses and mirrors.
