Temperature

Temperature scales differ in both their zero point and the size of a degree, so converting needs an offset as well as a factor. Kelvin and Rankine start at absolute zero, while Celsius and Fahrenheit do not. Water freezes at 0 °C, 32 °F and 273.15 K at standard atmospheric pressure.
