Algebra

Algebra uses letters for unknown values and finds them by rearranging equations: linear and quadratic equations, systems of equations, inequalities, polynomial factoring and the rules of exponents and logarithms. The quadratic x² − 5x + 6 = 0, for instance, factors as (x − 2)(x − 3) and has the solutions x = 2 and x = 3.
